Mickaël Salmon
After finishing my studies in 2012, I worked as a winemaker in a domain for two years before returning to the family business in 2014, where I began to integrate myself into all levels of the operation.

In February 2015, I left for New Zealand to work in a winery in the Marlborough Valley for several months.

In July 2019, I joined forces with my father on our family estate Salmon. At the same time I decided to create my domain in organic conversion in order to bring a different approach to the vine and the cellar. I have selected several fairly specific terroirs to produce only single-plot cuvées in white and red wines.

Having visited many vineyards in France and around the world, and above all of having tasted a lot of different wines, allows me to have a precise vision of the types of cuvées that I wanted to make.

Today the Domaine Lucas-Salmon extends over 10 hectares in Melon Blanc, Folle Blanche, Gamay and Pinot Noir.

The name Lucas, associated with the name Salmon, pays homage to my great-grandparents who were also winemakers in the Landes Devin.
An exceptional terroir as playground
The vinyard Lucas-Salmon extends over the township of Château-Thébaud and Vertou, in which the Sèvre and the Maine pass, two rivers which meander between the hillsides of the Nantes vineyards.

The proximity of the vineyard to the sea offers saline and oceanic wines recognized for their freshness and minerality.

We find in our plots granites, gneiss and quartz.
